Emily Chipman - Owner and Head Trainer

Meet Emily Chipman, a seasoned Hunter/Jumper rider whose journey in the equestrian world began at the young age of 6. With professional training starting early, she showcased her talent by competitively jumping at the age of 8 and earning numerous year-end equitation awards at just 9 years old. Emily's exceptional feel for horses and dedication led her to become a sought-after working student for various trainers, catching the attention of four-time Hall of Fame rider, Robert Gage.

Under Robert's guidance, Emily excelled, becoming his frequent catch rider and participating in clinics with up to 16 different horses in a single weekend. Her accomplishments extend to winning back-to-back jumper classics with her popular pony, "When In Rome," and remarkable performances at USEF Pony Finals. Emily's thoroughbred jumper, "Tempest," has consistently secured championships in various classes.

In 2017, Emily embraced her professional status, garnering a following of students who appreciate her expertise in flat lessons and her ability to guide riders in their jumping aspirations. Notably, she clinched victory at the Stoney Ridge Farms Equitation Invitational at Medal Finals in 2019.

Beyond the show ring, Emily's passion lies in discovering and developing the potential of "underdog" horses. Her current stable includes four "second career" horses, reflecting her commitment to their well-being and potential. Emily's interests extend to saddle fitting, tack, and a deep exploration of equine nutrition.

Andrea Karp – Owner and “Dorm Mom”

While not a rider, Ringside owner Andrea Karp has spent decades on the ground as a show mom and groom, cheering on her daughter and fellow owner/ head trainer, Emily Chipman. With several successful business ventures under her belt and a true love of horses, an evolution to caring and managing a show facility was an easy decision.

Andrea can be found daily in the barn aisles, handling all the everyday details necessary to the facility and program, and working side by side with staff. With a genuine affection for the horses and a keen interest in the successes of all the riders at Ringside, Andrea can be found later in the day watching the lessons and interacting with each client on a more personal level, earning her the “Dorm Mom” title.

Andrea is known to occasionally step into the ring as a “teacher” to the newer riders, with a focus on terminology and ways for newer riders to manage the show ring environment.
